“Nice Brunch in Town”
"Brunch is my favorite time to get-together with friends, so when a Manhattan couple of friends were coming out for a visit I wanted a suitable brunch location to relax and enjoy. Surprisingly, there aren't too many to choose from, but the brunch menu at Winston's seemed inviting and did not disappoint. There were enough varied choices to satisfy all, and the prices were very reasonable. A mimosa, screwdriver or Bloody Mary were complementary, as well as a small plate of baked goods. Ironically, we all ended up have the Crab Cakes Benedict, which was quite tasty and a decent sized portion, accompanied with either, salad, home fries or fruit. The service was very attentive, and the atmosphere is a little rustic, but evokes an Irish pub and is quite comfortable. I had only two complaints, which are pet peeves of mine: 1. the food was not hot when served, (which we could have sent back and probably should have), which indicates to me that the server was not on top of it (the restaurant was not crowded); and 2. I was charged for a re-fill on the coffee. To me that is tacky. If necessary, add a few cents to the cost of the coffee (I think it was $2 a cup), but don't rip off the customer by charging for a second cup, especially at brunch where the tendency is to linger and have a second cup. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience and we will come back."

“Breath of Fresh Air”
"What a pleasant surprise dining at this new gem in Rockville Centre, NY! The food, service, and atmosphere are all impeccable. Not only is the food delicious, the presentation is professional and done with great flair. The menu is creative and anything but boring. The pulled pork quesadilla was superb along with the shrimp served over polenta. The service was friendly, attentive and eager to serve. If the weather is nice, I definite recommend dining outdoors on the back patio. Winston's Whiskey & Wine Bar is a definite "Breath of fresh air ".

“Not a typical bar"
No taps and no rowdy crowd. Large wine and cocktail selection. Menu needs work and so do servings. A little light plate portion. Some lounge seating would be perfect. Overall a nice setting and comfortable, knowledgeable staff and friendly service."

"Dropped in just after 5PM tonight for quick dinner and drinks, we had the Truffle Mac and Cheese with Rock Shrimp (SO good!) and took advantage of their happy hour deal on a shrimp pesto pizza and drinks. The manager came over to our table to make sure we were happy with everything (always appreciated) and our server, Riley, took great care of us. The leftovers will make a nice lunch too!"
We will be back for sure.

“Nice classy spot. Love the decor that rustic look. Tried the cucumber park ace cocktail very refreshing!
For an older crowd not for the vibrant 20s or early 30s for a bar hopping type spot."

"Stumbled into Winston's on a mini bar crawl with my fellow Elite and I fell a little bit in love with what they have going on in there. The entire vibe and atmosphere they have in there is different from every other place in RVC.
It's really dark in here. Low lighting and candles and it set the mood. The bar is right there when you walk in and the decor is just really upscale or classy. Especially compared to the bar it's adjacent to. The crowd was a more mature crowd and they specialize in whiskey. I love me some Johnnie Walker (scotch whiskey) so I ordered that with Coke and it was $10. Which was a shock to me but I was pleasantly surprised.
The bartender was nice. She didn't overlook me and pretend not to see me. She took my orders and quickly gave me my drinks. As well as asked me if I wanted to open a tab or close it out.
We sat at a high table and just talked all while sipping on our drinks. No one bothered us to get up or move or force us to order and I loved that. I was full from dinner but this is one of those places you can come and drink with some friends and talk and just vibe. Or you can come in on a date and enjoy the ambiance and some good food from what I hear. I definitely won't hesitate to come back over here. Great experience!"

"Went on a Friday at 6:30....just in time for happy hour. $5 glasses of house wine. Started with short rib enchiladas which was a good call if I do say so myself. Very tasty! My entree, the octopus, was just ok. Small portion. Didn't taste fresh. Again, it was ok. Desert was average. Whiskey glazed doughnuts were interesting...the chocolate bars were salty and a little funky.
The service, host and busboy were very friendly. There were errors on the bill but not a big deal."

"I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly." - W. Churchill
Winston's is located next to and owned by Churchill's....See what they did there? Eh? Eh?
Cool vibe and decor, dark, candlelit, I totally would recommend it for dates, intimate gatherings, clandestine get together, ghouls, etc....
We tried the tuna tar tar tacos. Very light crunchy shells, spicy mayo, fresh cubed sushi tuna, and topped with seaweed salad. We actually doubled down and reordered them, a testament to their deliciousness.
The duck confit tacos were equally delicious, chock full of meat, and a spicy Asian slaw.
Stuffed Dates? I was certainly a Stuffed Date when we left the place!! Ahahahahahahahahahaha OK I'm done. Fruit stuffed with bleu cheese and wrapped in bacon. Rich, tasty, perfect combo of salty & sweet.
Truffle fries are truffles fries. I mean what else do I need to say? Delicious!
Service was excellent, friendly, and attentive.
My lone criticism: You cannot call yourself a "whiskey bar", and then only carry the most cliché and mainstream bourbons and ryes. I can go anywhere for Maker's Mark, Jim Beam, Wild Turkey, etc. Scotch selection was a little better, but again, lacking. Expand your collection, there are so many amazing whiskeys out there, I found the selection disappointing. Also - the Old Fashioned is a stirred cocktail. Not shaken."

"WELL Winston's is located right next door to Churchill's ... coincidence? I think not. I already love the place. It's fairly new and I've been meaning to try it out for some time now.
Came on a Tuesday evening with some friends and we had a very pleasant time.
The decor is beautiful upon walking in. Dim lighting, hardwood floors, overall rustic look with a romantic vibe - typical of a wine bar but nevertheless classy and beautiful! We sat outside on the patio, which was also adjacent to Churchill's outdoor seating.
The service was great. Our waitress was very polite, friendly, and knowledgeable when I asked her for suggestions. The menu is a bit different and you can tell they're trying to be trendy with it. It's also more suited for sharing a few small plates. They bring out each plate as it's ready, not all at once, which gave us time to really enjoy everything that we ordered. We tried the goat cheese dip (served with bread), truffle French fries, braised short ribs, and Frenched chicken breast. All were delicious and we finished every last bite.
For dessert, our waitress recommended the "drunken doughnuts" and chocolate chip cookies with Nutella. SO GOOD OHMYGOD!
They also have an extensive whiskey and wine selection (obviously) but I didn't delve into that portion of the menu because I was in the mood for sangria, which was really good and a decent serving. My friend had a martini which was also pretty big.
Overall, I had a really good time and will definitely be back, especially to try their wines and cured meats and cheeses."

"A bar John Taffer would be proud of! Such a cool environment and knowledgeable bartenders that craft the perfect cocktail every time! Great selection of wines! I personally never ate there but their food looks really good, will have to go there for dinner sometime."
- Rob M.
"Stopped in early Sunday evening to decompress after spending a while in a super noisy sports bar up the street, it was cold outside and I just wanted a chill and comfortable spot to have another drink. Winston's fit the bill perfectly. Ambiance is very cool and rustic. Reclaimed-looking wood and exposed brick, old fashioned light bulbs, dark but not in a creepy way, pretty quiet (the crappy early 2000s pop music softly playing was my only real gripe). The bartender was a cool guy and very friendly. I will say that for a whiskey bar I wasn't blown away by their selection of unique or hard-to-find varieties, but they had all the standard top shelf stuff you'd probably expect. A little pricey (I think each of my neat bourbons were in the 11-14 range) but not crazy. Overall I mostly enjoyed the physical space and warm, inviting vibe. I've heard other nights can get a little crazy, but on a chilly Sunday night I couldn't have asked for better."

"Had dinner last night with my family, we were seated right away. The food was good and not expensive. We would definitely come back.
RV has several new restaurants, I really like to try them all, and this one was the first of many!"
- Nora A.
"Everything was on point.
The Jean Marechal Sancerre delivered nicely and the rock shrimp and truffle mac and cheese was amaze-balls.
The shaved Brussels sprouts were good."
- Cary T.
"I absolutely love this place. The rustic decor is beautiful and the drinks and food are perfect, and the drunken doughnut dessert is really unbelievable."

"I stopped in at Winston's last night on the way home for a quick dinner with my GF, awesome place. I had eaten at a few other RVC spots before but never here so we tried it and could not have been more pleased. The inside of the bar is very quaint, the menu is small but it has everything you could want. Monday Night special was any pizza from their menu and 2 glasses of wine for $20- this is beyond reasonable it’s a fantastic deal, their pizzas were $16-$18 anyway, we got an $18 pie and essentially 2 glasses of sangria for free, yes sangria was included in the deal as well as any house wine. Sangria was just OK, white better than the Red but both contained soda of some sort which is not my style, but again I really only came here to eat.
On to the food, meatball pizza was delicious- typical bar pie with a well done very thin and crunchy crust, robust tomato sauce and thick slices of meatball with both mozzarella and whipped ricotta cheese. Next we had the prime sliders and an order of truffle fries, both were incredible. The slider is so perfectly cooked and tender it needs nothing, no salt, no ketchup, just as is with its bacon jam and crispy shallots they are phenomenal. Fries were cooked until crispy, lots of truffle flavor and the perfect amount of shaved cheese on top.
The big finish for us was the braised short rib with mashed potatoes and grilled mushrooms. Comes out steered perfectly and served in a cast iron skillet. First thing we noticed is how large the portion was, the menu is described as small plates, but its a large serving of short rib, an excellent value for $16, especially when served with sides- could have easily been a meal for one of us rather than just a share plate.
Tempo of service was on point, they leave a carafe of water on the table which i love so there is no waiting for a busboy or water boy and also they had large outdoor seating which we checked out before we left because we knew we would be back, it looked spacious and comfortable outside as well next time I would eat out"

"f you take the atmosphere of a wine bar; dim, sexy, sophisticated crowd and add good music, energy, and great staff, that just about sums up Winston's. The service is fantastic as every bartender and waiter/waitress I came in contact with was upbeat and seemed happy to be there. The food, tapas style, is delicious. There's a unique selection to choose from, outside of what you would normally see at a wine bar. You definitely will not go home hungry. While I am partial to the owners, I would have written this regardless b/c I enjoyed the place that much.
I would recommend the veal meatballs, pizza (we got the pizza of the day), duck confit tacos topped off with a couple of Harvest cocktails. You won't be disappointed! They also do wine flights to give the customer the opportunity to taste a few wines before committing. Love it!! Can't wait to go back!"
- Erin S.
"Went here for my wife's birthday on a Saturday night. We had about 15 people but the bar held it well and we had a great time, there are large tables in the back tucked away that we also took and were a break from the bar area. Had some apps and they were good but didn't get deep into the menu. The bar is classy and the next level up for Rvc which that area needed. Service was great and left happy. I didn't get to delve into the large whiskey menu they have which looks interesting so I will be back for that.
They could have had a better beer selection. I don't understand why specialty bars don't carry Budweiser but I guess it's the image they want to put forth.
Parking across the street is ample.
If you go to Rvc I would recommend this new addition."
- Brian X.
"This place is seriously amazing! I just had my 30th birthday party here and the staff was so nice and accommodating. I was definitely not looking for a bar like the usual RVC scene. This place is low key, and focuses on the product rather than trying to get 23 years olds in the door. The food was incredible. There were many amazing appetizers. The Stellar mac n cheese! Delicious sides! Even the veggies and salad were extremely good. All my friends and family were super impressed and all said they want to come back. I know I will definitely go back there for dinner and drinks. New favorite bar! Thanks, Winston's!"
- Jett M.
"Honestly the last two times before this haven't been that good, slider was a hockey puck and pizza was so cold which was sooooo unusual! I love the Kung fu girl Riesling if they ever take it away I don't know where I will go!! I and my boyfriend are obsessed with the margarita pizza today it was so good and came out nice and hot, it has an amazing flavor and its thin crust so it's not a heavy meal. He ordered one side; I did not because the last time our sliders were black and tasted like burnt. I had a bite of his today it was delicious I wish we ordered more hopefully when I order this next time it will be just as good! I wish they had regular fries tough or advertised it without the truffle oil because I don't care for that at all but we always love them without it. Belgian fries would be good. We also got the spinach dip for the first time and it was nice and hot. It was made with REAL spinach and topped with cheese and you really get sooooo much dip! I just wish you got more chips because we only got like 15. Our server Sherri was wonderful!! She was very attentive and knowledgeable. This place is perfect. I would add a few more items on the menu for those who are picky but other than that I love it!!!"
- Angie C.
"Oh wow so we came here yesterday for the first time and I wasn't crazy about anything we had except the margarita pizza. Oh my goodness it's the best pizza I've ever had in my life, hands down. How can a wine and whiskey bar make better pizza than pizza parlors! This time we just got a pizza and we ordered the Parmesan fries but I didn't like truffle oil fries so they were able to do it without that and they were awesome!!! My boyfriend likes the fries both ways. I couldn't believe we just had to come back today because we were craving the margarita pizza. If only they had craft beer for my boyfriend. He had a drink and I had a Riesling that I really love and have to find it in stores! Last time our server wasn't the brightest and it annoyed me she brought the pizza first because why ask when we want everything if you don't listen? Anyway this time our server was really friendly and knowledgeable. I believe her name was Riley. We were the only table eating on the inside but they have outdoor seating as well out back. Seriously I don't think I will ever get enough of that pizza you have to try the margarita pizza! We weren't even going to order it yesterday and I changed our minds at the last second, guess we found a new spot!"
"The food and the atmosphere were absolutely amazing! The menu is on point and it is clear that the chef is experienced and loves what he does. I would definitely recommend."
- Erica L.
"The food is amazing; the cheeses they offer are awesome! Great wine selection! Great environment! Love love love this place. Must try sesame tuna and calamari with "Jordan" wine.!YUM!"
- Rachel S.
"Went with a group of girlfriends for an early evening get together on a Saturday for a “Girl’s night out.” I recommend calling for reservations early because it filled up quickly.
Anyway- the small plates sharing concept is always a favorite of mine. We enjoyed picking and choosing as we enjoyed two bottles of wine. Food is pretty good here no doubt- some small plate portions could be bigger for instance the Brussels sprouts. We laughed when we saw the portion. Meat and cheeses were good- got two plates. Truffle fries, you can't go wrong and the meatball pizza. Had a nice bottle of rose and Malbec throughout the meal and ended with yummy cappuccinos.
Ambience is nice, wouldn't recommend for small kids due to high tables and tight quarters - however a little TOO similar to one of my all-time favorite places Barrique in Babylon, actually it's the clone restaurant but just claiming a whiskey bar versus wine bar. Apparently the former chef there and restaurant designer were the ones who opened barrique, go figure.
The service was okay- she could definitely be more refined, not just like a server at any ole restaurant in RVC, but she got the food out in timely manner and all correct."
- Natalie H.
"This place knows my drink! Whiskey bourbon and scotch! They also have a great selection of wines too. I love the bar and the atmosphere. It is more sophisticated than most of the other spots in RVC. It has a great vibe the place allows you to mingle. You can get to know people. I don't feel accosted by loud music or glaring TVs.
I like to sit and relax have a drink and make friends with other patrons. I can order a whisky in a rock glass with my choice of ice. They offer rock cubes which is critical for the proper enjoyment of high end whisky. Mike my bartender knows his products well and always makes good choices based on my tastes. The bartenders are serious about drinks and know how you make you laugh with a joke or two. I frequent here often and always have a good time."
- Vinny G.
"Everything about this place is fantastic. Immediate and friendly service, perfectly blended cocktails, and one of the best dinners I've ever had. The Pork Buns and Duck Tacos were absolutely delicious and quite affordable as well. Highly recommend."
- Brian L.
"What a great addition to the RVC dining scene! We came on Fri evening, around 6:30 were seated immediately, and Kristen took good care of us. She recommended a drink for me, I recently started drinking bourbon/whiskey based drinks as they seemed to go down better for me than vodka-based drinks, so she suggested Scottish Rose which had a pleasant kick but was not too strong, I actually went for the second one. Hubby had one whiskey on the rocks and the other straight up. For food, we over-ordered a bit, but all was delicious. We had the cheese board with 4 cheeses, that came with skinless almonds, fig jam, dried apricots and toasts, this board in itself was very filling, we probably could have done just one more appetizer with it, but the menu looked enticing and we also got the duck tacos, the veal meatballs and the seafood pasta, it was a lot of food! The place attracts mature crowd, I did not see anyone under 30 there and the vibe is friendly yet sophisticated. The manager was stopping at every table a few times to make sure everyone was happy, and Kristen also stopped by quite often to check on us. Overall, I was very impressed with the food, the drinks and the service. This is not a place to bring kids to, but definitely, a very nice place to go with a friend, a loved one, or better yet, with a group of friends."
- Baby S.
We offer you carefully selected top-rate wines and whiskeys along with great food.
“Can a restaurant be PERFECT?”
“Well, this one is as close as it gets! It's the PERFECT place for dinner, amazing small plates coming out from the kitchen. Hubby's fav is the Ahi Tuna, mine is the Calamari. It's the PERFECT place to meet friends for a drink...ask for Angelina at the bar, she's the PERFECT combination of professional & fun!. It's the PERFECT place if you're 40 plus. It's the PERFECT place if you're 40 minus! Yes, this restaurant is PERFECT!"
